The hockey division of AIK was founded in 1921. The club has played in the Swedish Championship final twelve times and has won seven championship titles. The most recent title was secured in the 1983/1984 season. AIK Hockey has played at Hovet since 1962.

Hovet is located in Johanneshov in south of Stockholm. Within easy walking distance there are six metro stations including Gullmarsplan - Stockholm's second largest hub for public transport with trams and buses.

It is not permitted to bring umbrellas, bottles, professional cameras, food, or drinks into the arena. No bags larger than 40x40x20 cm are allowed inside. All bags will be checked at the entrance.
